Alcohol Policy
Alcohol Policy
The IFC ratified a new policy regarding alcoholic beverages on chapter properties and at chapter events in the Fall of 2018. This new policy took effect on January 1st, 2019 and prohibits the presence of hard alcohol (>15% ABV) at chapter events unless exemption requirements are met. In order to do so, chapters must gain approval from IFC by contacting the IFC, completing a form, and providing proof of the required documents.
Chapter Application
Email our Vice President of Judicial Affairs at judicial@texasifc.com in order to acquire the checklist and application form. Requests will be approved so long as all the requirements from the checklist are met. All exemption forms and necessary documents must be completed and submitted via email seven days prior to the event. Please send to any other inquiries to judicial@texasifc.com.
Why the New Policy?
Nearly all hazing and over-consumption deaths in the past five years have involved students consuming high-percentage alcoholic beverages. The Council felt it was critically important to act with one voice to effectively implement an industry-wide standard.
